Spotting Fake All Weather Leather Dooney
I got this tid bit of information DIRECTLY from the Dooney gepany and when I checked it out, I found it SOOOO easy to spot the fakes. They mentioned 2 ways:1.) Look at the stitching. The fakes use longer stitches and the thread is bright yellow. Real DB use shorter stitches and a duller yellow. (This one I found hard to notice. Some are easier than others.)2.) Look at the leather itself. If the leather is shiny, no if ands or buts...it is a counterfeit. DB All Weather Leather may allow light to reflect off of it, but it is a DULL shine. True glossy shiny is fake. (this one I found made fakes GLARYINGLY OBVIOUS. No pun intended.) Fake (shiny) Real SOOO fake. You can see the shiny leather and almost even the longer yellow stitches -well maybe you cant see the stitches..it is a bad 3rd hand picture.
